Supporting Your Skin's Natural Structure

Collagen forms an important part of the skin’s natural support structure, helping it feel firm, resilient and well supported. As its production and quality change over time, the skin can gradually become thinner, less elastic and slower to recover, while facial contours may begin to feel less defined.

Collagen-stimulating treatments do not all work in the same way. Some are chosen to rebuild deeper structural support, while others focus more closely on skin quality, repair and resilience. During your consultation, I assess your face and skin as a whole, allowing me to recommend the approach that best suits your concerns, tissue quality and the pace at which you would like your result to develop.

Your Collagen-Stimulating Options

Sculptra

A gradual injectable collagen stimulator designed to rebuild facial support, firmness and skin quality over time. Results develop subtly as your own collagen response increases and may last for more than two years.

Sunekos

An injectable treatment combining hyaluronic acid with a precise blend of amino acids to support the production of collagen and elastin. It is particularly suited to improving fine lines, elasticity and skin quality in delicate areas, without changing facial shape or adding noticeable volume

Radiesse

A calcium hydroxylapatite treatment providing immediate structural support while stimulating collagen and elastin over time. Chosen when firmer support, definition and balanced facial contouring are needed.

RF Microneedling

Microneedling creates controlled microchannels that encourage the skin’s natural repair response and collagen renewal. RF microneedling also delivers targeted radiofrequency energy beneath the surface, offering a more intensive option for concerns such as laxity, uneven texture, enlarged pores and scarring.

Different Treatments, Different Results

Collagen stimulation is not one treatment with one predictable result. Sculptra is selected when the aim is to gradually rebuild deeper facial support, while Radiesse can provide firmer, more immediate structure and definition alongside longer-term biostimulation. Sunekos works more closely within the skin to improve fine lines, elasticity and overall quality without reshaping the face. RF microneedling combines controlled needling with radiofrequency energy to support renewal, firmness and texture.

The most suitable option depends on where change has occurred and whether your priority is facial support, skin quality, texture or a combination of concerns. During your consultation, I’ll explain what each treatment can realistically achieve and create a plan that feels considered, proportionate and completely individual to you.

YOUR TREATMENT PLAN

A Gradual Approach,
Planned Around You

Collagen-stimulating treatments work gradually, so your plan should allow time for each stage to develop and settle. From choosing the right treatment to reviewing your response, every step is guided by what your skin and facial structure genuinely need.

1 - Your Consultation

Your consultation is your time to share what you have noticed, how it makes you feel and what you would like to improve. I’ll assess your skin quality and facial structure, review your medical history and explain which treatments could help you achieve your goals. You’ll be fully informed about the expected results, possible risks and aftercare before giving your consent, with plenty of time to ask questions and no pressure to proceed.

2 - Your Treatment Plan

Most collagen-stimulating treatments are planned as a course because they work by encouraging your body’s own natural repair and renewal processes. Each session provides a carefully controlled stimulus, allowing the response to build gradually rather than trying to create the full result in one appointment. Radiesse may sometimes be suitable as a single treatment, depending on the support and definition required. We’ll agree on the number and spacing of your sessions based on your starting point, goals and response, recommending only what is likely to offer you genuine benefit.

3 - Your Results & Review

Collagen renewal takes time, so your results will continue to develop gradually after each treatment. You’ll receive clear aftercare guidance and ongoing support throughout the process. At your review, we’ll assess how your skin and facial structure have responded, discuss the changes you can see and decide together whether any further treatment or future maintenance would be beneficial.

Collagen-Stimulating Treatments FAQs

Which collagen-stimulating treatment is right for me?

The right treatment depends on what you would like to improve and where the changes have occurred. Sculptra is often chosen to gradually rebuild broader facial support, while Radiesse can provide firmer structure and definition alongside collagen stimulation. Sunekos focuses more closely on fine lines, elasticity and skin quality, particularly in delicate areas. RF microneedling may be recommended when texture, laxity, enlarged pores or scarring are the main concerns.

During your consultation, I’ll assess your skin and facial structure, explain the differences clearly and help you choose the option most suited to your goals.

When will I see results?

This depends on the treatment selected. Radiesse can provide immediate support and definition, while Sculptra, Sunekos and RF microneedling rely more heavily on your body’s gradual regenerative response. Early improvements may become noticeable within the first few weeks, with results continuing to develop over the following months.

I’ll explain the expected timeline for your chosen treatment during your consultation, so you know what changes to look for and when.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

Your treatment plan will depend on your starting point, the concern being treated and how your body responds.

Radiesse may require one or two sessions, with results often lasting around 12 to 18 months. Sculptra is usually planned as a course of approximately three sessions, although some people may need more or fewer. Once the initial result has developed, an additional session may be considered after six months, followed by yearly maintenance where appropriate.

Sunekos is usually completed as a course of four sessions, with a maintenance treatment approximately every six months. RF microneedling is generally planned as three to four sessions, spaced around four to six weeks apart. Maintenance may then be recommended every three to six months, depending on your skin and concerns.

These are general guidelines rather than a commitment to a set number of appointments. We’ll review how you respond throughout and recommend only the treatment that is likely to provide a meaningful benefit.

Will collagen-stimulating treatments change the shape of my face?

Not necessarily. The result depends on the treatment selected and what you would like to achieve. Sculptra and Radiesse can be used to improve facial support and contour where this is needed, while Sunekos and RF microneedling focus more closely on skin quality without adding volume.

My approach is conservative and centred around preserving your individual features. Treatment is planned gradually, allowing us to assess each stage before deciding whether anything further would enhance the result.

What downtime should I expect?

Downtime varies depending on the treatment. Sculptra and Radiesse tend to cause the most initial swelling or fullness, although many clients enjoy this early glimpse of a more supported appearance. This is temporary and should not be mistaken for the final result, which develops and settles differently depending on the treatment.

Sunekos can leave small raised areas immediately afterwards, but its fluid formulation is designed to disperse quickly and these usually settle within a short time.

RF microneedling commonly causes redness and warmth for the remainder of the treatment day, with only minor redness usually remaining the following day. Makeup can generally be worn from the following day after all of these treatments, provided the skin is healing normally and you follow the aftercare advice given.

Most patients find the recovery easy to manage around everyday life. I’ll explain exactly what to expect from your chosen treatment and provide clear guidance to support comfortable healing.

Are collagen-stimulating treatments safe?

All medical and energy-based treatments carry potential risks, which will vary depending on the option selected. Your safety begins with a thorough consultation, including assessment of your medical history, treatment suitability, skin condition and facial anatomy.
